Sound insulation testing - Readiness checklist

Before booking your sound test, please ensure that;

• proper access arrangements have been made to dwellings at both sides of all partitions to be tested;
• doors and windows are in place;
• there is 240V power on site;
• internal doors in place;
• cornicing and skirting boards are fitted;
• rooms should be free of furnishing;
• no other trades are on site;
• all external windows are fitted and closable;
• window trickle vents should be fitted;
• all doors, both internal and external are fitted along with any threshold and perimeter seals;
• plug sockets and TV sockets in party walls are fitted and in place; and
• floors & ceiling surfaces should be completed.

Access is required to both sides of any partition to be tested. Access arrangements must be made prior to the test date.

Sites not ready for testing

Please note that we cannot conduct testing if the above conditions are not met. An additional fee may be charged if the site is not ready for testing at the agreed time.

Notice for cancellation of appointment

We require a minimum of 48 hours notice for a test cancellation. Failure to give sufficient notice may also result in additional fees being charged.
