When booking sound tests, it's essential to check that your development is ready. So, to ensure that you have the best chance of passing first time, please check the following before you book your test:
- Cornicing and skirting boards should be fitted
- Rooms should be free of any furnishings
- The site should be as quiet as possible during testing. Although the tests are loud, any additional noise on site can negatively affect the test results
- No other tradesmen can be present in the properties during sound testing
- All windows are fitted to the development and can be closed
- Window trickle vents should also be fitted
- All doors, both internal and external should be fitted along with any threshold and perimeter seals
- If you have sockets (plug sockets, TV sockets etc.) in party walls, these should all be fully fitted and in place
- Floors & ceiling surfaces should be completed. In flats, they should be free of down-lighters and other surface penetrations
